Ok, so I don’t need to type this every time – It’s HOT & I don’t like it!!!!!!!!! So from now until probably mid October each time I make a post, refer to this post for my complaint about the heat. Mary still heres me complaining but you probably won’t.<\/p>\n
August 17 – 18 2021 – Elevation 930<\/p>\n
Well, Mary received a clean bill of health from the all Doctors, and had no surprise Dr visits required, THIS TIME, so after 15 nights at Deam Lake we were finally able to get back on the road.<\/p>\n
Deam Lake has a 14 day limit but Mary went into the office, yanked the guy from behind the desk up by his shirt, through him up against the wall, his head busting the drywall, she twisted his arm behind his back and tells him we need to stay another night and you’re going to allow it or I’m going to toss you through that brick wall. Apparently, after that, he was ok with us staying one extra night.<\/p>\n
I’ll admit I was actually waiting out in the Jeep and didn’t witness this exchange – But I’m pretty sure that’s the way it happened.<\/p>\n
So, around 7:50 this morning we pulled out of the Campground, stopped and filled up the Motorhome and we’re back on the road and on our way, in a roundabout way, to Florida bound.<\/p>\n
At first we were going to take I-64 to Grayson KY which is around 200 miles, there were no campgrounds, so we decided \u00a0to go toward Pikeville KY for about 230 miles. Of course it started raining shortly after we arrived and didn’t stop until Wednesday afternoon so we didn’t get out much.<\/p>\n
August 19, 2021 – Elevation 2071<\/p>\n
We hooked up the jeep in the rain at around 8:00 am and drove around 168 miles. It was all up and down and around, surprisingly it was all 4 lane divided highway with little traffic except around towns. We arrived here earlier than I would have liked but it was cloudy with off and on for the drive. We could have easily driven further but we wanted to add Virginia to our list of states we have spent the night in, if were drove to much further we would have been in another state. With the rains and cloudy the photo opportunities are mostly non existent.<\/p>\n
For the second day in a row I’ve had a sinus headache and Advil didn’t help so I ended up taking a Benadryl and then things kinda knock me out, that’s another reason for not getting out much.<\/p>\n
August 20, 2021 \u00a0– Elevation 534<\/p>\n
We moved about 201 miles today, drove through a portion of North Carolina and spending the night in South Carolina.<\/p>\n
For tomorrow I wanted to move \u00a0to a federal park near Charlestown and the Atlantic Ocean but all 14 sites were booked, so then I looked at a county park, we kinda like to stay at those, usually they are small and not crowded, this one had 124 spots and was $55 to $66 a night (insert heart attack here) so we didn’t go there.<\/p>\n
Besides up and down and curves, there wasn’t any good photo opportunities from along the expressway.<\/p>\n
