We moved from Lake Kissimmee SP back to Big Oaks, the same spot, back in the sun, but it’s not as bad this time around because, while it’s still HOT, the humidity is way down and it’s getting cooler at night so there are not as many hours of heat.<\/p>\r\n
The drive was around 114 miles, you know, Florida kinda reminds me of one big city, traffic every where, a large number of 2,3,4+ lane roads sometimes your driving 60-65 the next thing you know your slowing down for stoplights.
In fact, while at Kissimmee, with the windows open, I slept so good last night, the alarm had the nerve to wake me up this morning, the first or second time since I started setting it back in Colorado Springs, usually, I’m up by 4:00 or no later than 5:00. That’s AM.
We made the stop back here at Big Oaks so we could visit my sister and her husband one last time before leaving Florida.<\/p>\r\n
I chose to stay in Georgia simply so I could put hot and humid Florida in my rearview mirror, of course it’s about the same temperature here, but it helps physiology wise. Just for the record we are less than a mile from the Florida Georgia border.<\/p>\r\n
Saturday, October 21, 2021, well that didn’t go as planned with Florida in the rearview mirror, we had a small snafu.<\/p>\r\n
We pulled out about 8:15 for a 257 mile drive, one go the longest in several weeks so I wanted to get an early start, 2:30 we pulled in to East Bank Campground, only to discover that check out was not until 3:00 and check in is at 4:00, of course someone is staying until the last second. We’re currently parked in a grassy field with the generator and A\/C running. Not only that but I have a splitting sinus headache, one reason we didn’t drag our feet getting here, I’m wanting to take a beandryl and they always put me to sleep so I can’t take one until we get setup.<\/p>\r\n
Found out the people in our spot were having some type of mechanical issue, all I know is later in the evening a woman tapped on our door asking if it was ok for her to look for her lost phone, I hope she found it, but it was not in plain sight when we parked. We both had headaches and neither one of us ventured outside once we got set up.<\/p>\r\n
This campground is on the shores of Lake Seminole, while it’s a large lake at 37,500 acres, it only has an average depth of 10ft, and 30ft at it’s deepest. Now, in the early fall when you look out across the water you can see acres and acres of seaweeds across the lake.<\/p>\r\n
