1\/1\/2019<\/p>\n
The day dawned cold (29) and windy. It has been cold and windy here this year. Much colder than last year……. And WINDY, last year we had almost no wind. This year almost no days without wind gust.<\/p>\n
We didn\u2019t do anything today, the only thing we did was get a couple of gallons of water, the water here taste bad, so there are many water dispensers around that sell filtered and RO the water so it\u2019s drinkable. We considered going fo a walk around the park, but decided it was to cold and windy.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s now towards the end of the January, it\u2019s not been the best January because we have had\u00a0several nights dipping down in to the mid 20\u2019s, cool days, several days of wind, sometimes gusting to over 30 MPH. Couple that with several\u00a0days of rain or predicted rain. And it was to nearly as enjoyable as last year. Also this area is much greener and something must be in bloom that I\u2019m allergic to, made it a stay in doors for most of January.<\/p>\n
This did give Mary a chance to finish the 3 quilts she had in the works.<\/p>\n
We did get out a few times, mostly with Lin in the white Jeep, a fun run we did was called preachers pass, we also examined a few mines in the area.<\/p>\n
The Petroglyphs we couldn\u2019t find the first time couldn\u2019t stay hidden for ever, with a better game plan we tried it again, with the same instructions as last time we tried a different spot, the first hike up a wash turned out to be in interesting walk but a bust for finding Petroglyphs the wash became very narrow and ended at a cliff. So hike #2 for the day had us going up what was the same wash only uphill from our first walk. We walked about a 1\/2 mile before turning around, the instructions said to follow the wash, turns out the Petroglyphs are right next to the parking spot, next to the wash not a short walk up a wash.<\/p>\n
Killing time inside, one the things we did was watch all 8 seasons of\u00a0McLode’s Daughters on Amazon Prime. It\u2019s an Australian production. Obviously the show lasted longer than the contracts for the stars, they had to keep finding ways to introduce new daughters. It must have been a popular show because by the end none of the original actors were in it.<\/p>\n
So sorry we missed the polar vortex\u2014\u2014 NOT!!!<\/p>\n
