It’s some free public lands. It’s a big area and there were averaging 7-8 campers here a night.

We’re far enough up the mountain to miss the triple digit temps of the lower elevations yet we still hit 90+ a few days. On a couple of those days the wind was blowing to hard to put out the awning so we needed to run the generator for a couple of hours during the hottest part of the day. At night, the wind tended to die down and the temperature’s dropped so that by morning you were reaching for an extra blanket.

On the days where the wind didn’t blow toooo hard and we could put out the awning the inside didn’t get to warm.

I think the hottest day we had was the day we went to the Grand Canyon, of course, as I’ve mentioned we do a lot of the super of the moment stuff, the trip to the canyon was one of those, partly because we planned to leave the next morning, several days later and we were still there.

One of our neighbors had a paraglider and he took it up a couple of times when it wasn’t windy.

We had to leave the chairs upside down when we were not using them otherwise they would cartwheel away.

Anyway, for the most part it’s been really comfortable here, why else would we have stayed soooo long:)

The lost kettle.

When we left Indiana for AZ we were pretty sure we were going to buy RUBY, so we packed a few items to survive until we got back to IN. Even taking out the rear seat you can’t fit much in a 2 door Jeep. Anyway, one of the things we were sure we had packed was a small kettle. We could’t find it any where, now like I said we couldn’t bring much and they didn’t leave much behind, so most of the storage places are empty. It turns out that a couple of the drawers are pretty long and we just didn’t pull one out far enough, yes, we did in fact bring a small kettle with us. It just took us a week or so to discover it’s hiding place.

6/10/2019-6/17/2019 Elevation 5818 You know it’s dry and windy when It’s 90 degrees and you don’t really need A/C and it’s pretty comfortable setting outside.
