This morning is bright sunshine and much calmer winds. We pulled out around 9:00 and drove 221 miles. I had planned to do another 100 miles or so and drop down into Colorado for the night but you know those calm winds, they are not calm any more so we stoped for the night at Oliver Reservoir just outside of Kimball Nebraska. It\u2019s a free (donation only) no frills campground on a small lake and we\u2019re down around 4803 in elevation. I\u2019ll let you know what I think about being close to the train track tomorrow.<\/p>\n
The winds picked up after about an hour of driving, not with white knuckle driving but you had to keep both hands on the wheel. One of the rest areas we stopped at was called Westhound, now that place was crazy, the parking lot was circular and not all that big, any striping for the big trucks is long gone, big trucks were kinda organized and parked correctly, I think. Let\u2019s just say that of all the rest areas that we stopped at in Wyoming, that one was the pits and way to small for the number of trucks that were there and looking for a place to stop. It\u2019s one of those that is for both directions. We ended up pulling up next to a curb behind a semi.<\/p>\n
Except for the one above, I need to give Wyoming A++ on their Rest Areas and Historical Markers, both are well marked and especially the Historical Markers are plenty large for 2-3 semis or big RV\u2019s plus the signs are like arrows and tell you what side of the road they are on.<\/p>\n
We were up there tooooo, at one time we were up 8563 feet elevation, now let me tell you that was a real climb, dropping down to around 35 MPH by the time we got to the top, that\u2019s the same speed most of the semi\u2019s were gong to.<\/p>\n
What a difference a day makes, yesterday was cloudy and windy with the temps in the high 30\u2019s, I only went outside for a couple of minutes and was COLD, all day long anytime I noticed anyone outside they were all bundled up and now its sunny and 75, we have the windows and roof vents open all while parked in the shade of a cottonwood tree.<\/p>\n
Well, the trains on this track are LONG and the track(s) is pretty busy. Most of the trains have 2 engines but one went by east bound with 5 and another one, west bound, had 7 engines. I do hope I sleep through the horns tonight.<\/p>\n

Well, I slept sound and didn’t hear a train until 6:30 this morning. Freezing my AXX off a few days ago, now where we’re headed is’s going to be 89 UHG, apparently Im never happy with the weather.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
