Our month stay was up today so it was time to head on down the road, we had a good time here at Loma Poloma RV park, actually it was hard to leave, everyone was super friendly, and while we were there they\/we ate GOOD, we had pitch in several times like BBQ Chicken, Smoked Turkey, Smoked Brisket, Tortilla Soup. I’ll admit I was a little apprehensive about joining in the meals but. A) Presidio County has one of the lowest Covid problems in the nation, it helps that no body lives in the county. B) we ate outside. C) Mask were required while inline getting your food then everyone mostly sat apart. D) Most of the group were retired or working from home and pretty much only ventured out for groceries. The largest gathering, Christmas, we had 24 people, most were around 15-18.<\/p>\n
Mary out did herself at these pitch-ins by whipping up some really delicious side dishes like\u00a0Persimmon Pudding, Corn Bread, no bake cookies, Macaroni & Cheese, 2 separate batches of Rice Krispy Treats.<\/p>\n
The New Years fireworks were postponed until Friday, January the 8th because of the snow & cold over New Years.<\/p>\n
Lots of times they went as a group shopping over in Ojinaga Mexico, it’s just across the Rio Grande from Presidio. It’s a LITTLE larger town than Presidio as I understand it and I guess the prices are a little more reasonable. One guy kept talking about how much better the Mexican Coke is over US Coke so I had them bring a few back when they went shopping—– Neither one of us tasted any real difference.<\/p>\n
From what we understand it should have been much warmer than it was, last year a couple of them were out in shorts and flip flops.<\/p>\n
